September Recap

Now that September is pretty much over, I am all ready to ring in October! Not only is it the month before my birthday, but it's a month full of fun if you ask me... The leaves start changing, the weather gets much cooler, AND it's Halloween! I have to figure out what I should dress up as this year! Any ideas? Happy Friday everyone! Hope you all have a fabulous weekend! XO, Liza

WANT, NEED, MUST HAVE: Lover Ivory Lace Serpent Dress

Birthday dress anyone??? My 27th is about a month away and I think I found the most perfect frock ever for it. Problem is it's almost 900 bucks... yikes. Hey, it's $1,000 on shopbop?  I am obsessed though! I love nothing more than wearing ivory in the winter. Plus, that skirt? I adore how it drops in the front, as well as the back. Absolutely gorgeous beyond belief. Does Bonadrag ever get it wrong? I don't think so... XO, Liza

Liza's September Playlist

So guys, here is my little playlist for the month of September. I just realized a lot of these songs are super slow and somewhat depressing? Hahaha! Whoops! Such classic ones though. Enjoy! XO, Liza

Love this new tune by Lenny. I feel he hasn't come out with something fun and fast in a while now. Been playing this one on my rides home from work lately.
Another gorgeous song from Bon Iver for the month.
Can't go wrong with David Bowie in my eyes. He is AMAZING.
One of my favorite songs of all time. Although it's dark and moody, I could listen to it every day. So beautiful.
Great driving song.
Kate Nash reminds me a bit of Regina Spektor, who I adore... especially in this particular song. This is the only song I have of hers, but I should definitely look into her others.
Gets me in a lovey dovey kind of mood...
Thought I'd throw this song in. Nothing super special, but good.
Ugh! ADORE Annie Lennox. I mean, who doesn't?
This is for my man. He has been playing a crap load of Neil Young lately and yesterday I had to tell him,  enough! Well I do like this song a lot though...

Photo of the Day: Jesse Jo

Taking a break from the fashion weeks, as most blogs are already covering it, I thought I'd do a photo of the day for Monday. This picture is of Jesse Jo Stark, emerging style icon and daughter of the founders of Chrome Hearts. Lucky girl, huh? I absolutely love the laid back and edgy style she is known for, as she never takes herself too seriously and doesn't dress for anyone, but herself. More on her later... here is one of my favorite photos of Ms. Stark. XO, Liza

NYFW: Doo. Ri

I have always loved Doo Ri. The etheral esque qualities of her designs are just so soft and gorgeous. She is known for her talent of draping, but I feel this collection of hers went above and beyond that. Below are a few of my favorite looks from her show. I am particularly obsessing over those fringe neck pieces! Would love to throw one of those over a silk slip dress for a night out... XO, Liza

Stunning!! The pop of that purple dress with the white fringe of the neck piece? Amazing.
Head to toe, I love it all, especially the neck piece and the slouchy white shorts. The shoes aren't bad either! ;)
Beyond beautiful. I am usually not a huge fan of belting, but this time it pulls the look perfectly together.
Ahh! ADORE this jumpsuit. If only I were 5'9, I'd throw this on in a heartbeat.
One of the last looks of the show. Simply breathtaking. Those sicks are sick too! They kind of remind me of an open toed version of the Vivienne Westwood pirate boots from years ago.

NYFW: Altuzarra

Slowly, but surely I am going through all the shows from New York Fashion Week on style.com. Agh so many... I am very behind! Anyways, one of the first I checked out was Altuzarra. Although many of the looks weren't my style, there were a few that were quite amazing. With the label being only a few years old, Joseph Altuzarra showed talent of a true veteran, such as Marc Jacobs or Nicolas Ghesquiere. Actually, this collection was very reminiscent of Balenciaga if you ask me! Check out my four favorite looks below! XO, Liza

This is sleek and covered, yet very sexy! I think the shoes complete the look perfectly.
Loving how baggy the yellow sweater is! Fitted sweaters are great, but I usually prefer them loose and oversized.
 That top!!
Favorite look from the collection hands down. First, I need those shoes! Secondly, I am obsessed with the pairing of that tough red leather vest with the flowing ballerina esque skirt. Perfection!

Bambi Northwood Blyth and Martha Hunt for Free People

Free People??? WOW is all I can say when I looked at this amazing editorial esque shoot with one of my favorite models, Bambi Northwood Blyth, and Martha Hunt for the bohemian chain boutique. Such a gorgeous setting and concept for their fall September catalog! Not to mention the styling is impeccable. I'm absolutely DYING over the second to last photo of those beige knit overalls. Must have! Happy weekend everyone! I will be sure to cover all of my favorite shows from NYFW next week! XO, Liza

Photo of the Day: Richards X 2

Well guys, summer is finally coming to the an end here in Chicago. This past Saturday it was in the 80's and today it's only 60! Ahh! Well I am ready. The cool air felt great this morning and it felt quite nice to put my little sweatshirt/jean Alexander Wang jacket on. I'm more than eager to pack away my sundresses and rompers and trade them in for boots, tights, and cozy knits. This picture is the epitome of the end of summer for me. Cute shades huddled under a blanket on the beach... and you can't go wrong with the Richards girls. Hope you all had a wonderful Labor day weekend! XO, Liza
