July Recap

It's really hard to believe it's the end of July. I feel like just yesterday it was the 4th! Ahh... I guess I say that all the time. Anyways, my monthly recap is kind of short, as my parents were using my camera in Europe. Hope you enjoy though!  XO, Liza

Favorite Site: Spanish Moss Vintage

I have a a very looong list of sites I check each and every day of the week. I know I know... it can be quite overwhelming at times, especially now with all the fall clothing slowly creeping in! One of my go to sites though is always the California based Spanish Moss Vintage. Founded by Suzanne Ford- Carafano in 2006, Spanish Moss truly has the most perfect vintage collection out there. I'm serious... this isn't just "vintage" from ten years ago. Nothing is worse then boutiques/stores claiming they have vintage, when it's from the 1990's. Spanish Moss is the real deal my ladies! Carrying an extensive collection of vintage AND new, including Deadly Ponies handbags (DROOL!) and Shakuhachi dresses, Spanish Moss also has a house line called American Gold, which is beyond amazing. I am pretty much always lusting after their little short lace dresses with long bell sleeves. Below I posted a few of my favorite vintage looks from Spanish Moss, as well as two American Gold pieces I've had my eyes on. What do you guys think? Personally, I am kind of in love with the tie dye kimono!!! XO, Liza

Anna Buckle & Denim Dress, $42. Awww, this is so something Alexa Chung would wear. Nice and lightweight, I might just have to grab this for the remaining time of the summer. After all, it's been a heatwave here!
Bess Nude Swing Coat, $ 128. Is this insanely gorgeous or what? I would love to wear this over a simple dress for a night out of dinner and drinks.
Obviously obsessed with that ascot esque bow!
Bird of Paradise Swimsuit, $64. A one piece swimsuit has gotta be killer for me to want to wear it... and I want to wear this one!! Hey, I'd even throw it on with some jean shorts and a leather belt for daytime!
Love the ties on the bottom.
French Quarter Tuxedo Top, $92. This top reminds me of something Lou Doillon would be wearing strolling the streets of Paris. I've been eyeing it for quite some time now and it's STILL on the site! Maybe it's a sign that I should buy it!
Love how it's just a tiiiiiny bit cropped.
Gigi Lux Fur Bomber, $178. This is just too perfect for the upcoming winter. I do have a few furs, but I am kind of craving a little more of a fitted style. This is JUST that!
Hamptons Nude Silk Trousers, $48. These pleated trousers are SO something I've been looking for and voila, here they are! Pairing something androgynous with a feminine bustier or top is genius to me.
AMERICAN GOLD Topanga Tie Dye Kimono, $178. This really needs to be in my wardrobe for the fall. Although I could only get a few good months out of it before the weather starts to get chilly, I'd still probably wear it over everything.
AMERICAN GOLD Spanish Moon Dress, $158. It's like a blouse, but in a dress! And with a price like that, it's a must- have frock for the fall.

Editorial of the Moment: Sasha Pivovarova by Inez & Vinoodh for Vogue Paris June/July 2011

Besides bringing me back an amazing piece of jewelry and some authentic treats from Paris, my mom also picked up something she'd knew I would appreciate: the June/July issue of Vogue Paris. Ahh! Pure bliss to any fashionista. I mean, American Vogue has become so blegh and boring, right? Very predictable and nothing out of the ordinary. I am always craving an editorial that is gonna take my breath away and ultimately inspire me! When I came across this one featuring one of my favorite models, Sasha Pivovarova, shot by Inez & Vinoodh, I was instantly obsessed. Is it just me or does it kind of remind you of Madonna circa Desperately Seeking Susan? The big bow in the hair, the birthmark, the sunglasses? Haha! Anyways, I am adoring the white socks paired with the spiked loafers and the gorgeous oversized coats. Kind of crazy this shoot is getting me excited for autumn, but there really is nothing like fall fashion... ;) Hope you guys all had a wonderful weekend! XO, Liza

WANT, NEED, MUST HAVE: BOY by Band of Outsiders Double Faced Leggings

I'm always looking for the PERFECT pair of stylish sweatpants. No, I'm not talking about the ones you wear to the gym or to grab coffee down the street. I'm talking about the amazingly cute ones that you can't live without... the ones you can wear with your comfy trusty Converse sneakers or your brand new open toe wedges (as shown below). These jersey legging-esque sweats by BOY by Band of Outsiders were just put up on shopbop yesterday and I have already added them to my fall wishlist! They are unfortunately WAY expensive ($320, eek)... but I am hoping these will be in my closet sometime soon. What do you guys think? Let me know! XO, Liza

Also, thank you to Refinery29 Chicago for featuring me in their "5 Things To Know This AM!"

Loving the little patches on the knees and the cuffs at the bottom.

Outfit Post: Another Brick in the Wall

The weather in Chicago has been absolutely beautiful lately! Some days quite hot and humid, but overall I can't complain. Anything is better then snow, right? I'm enjoying my daily walks to and from my man's place and my apartment way too much. Anyways,  hope you guys all had an amazing weekend! XO, Liza

Inspired By: Beverly Hills 90210

Now don't get me wrong... I do actually love the new generation of 90210 that premiered on the CW just a few years ago. My sister and I call eachother after every episode to gossip about what happened between Annie and Liam, Naomi and her nerd, etc etc. But nothing can really ever top the original Beverly Hills 90210. It honestly brings me back to my childhood,  sneaking into the tv room to watch it over my sister and her friends shoulders. I was only six years old when it first aired, but I guess I can say I have practically seen EVERY episode to this day. Beverly Hills 90210 not only had an amazing cast and a gorgeous landscape, but very memorable outfits! I mean, how can you NOT remember Brenda and Kelly's matching black and white off the shoulder prom dress? Or Donna Martin's tight little body hugging floral minis? Well I found a bunch of items on some of my favorite shopping sites that are SURE to bring you right back to the nineties. Hope you all enjoy! Happy weekend! XO, Liza

 The original gang!
This photo is epic. It really cracks me up.

MinkPink Daisy Chain Crop Blouse, $80. Cropped AND a daisy print? Beyond 1992! Love it so much. This is such a great top to just hang around in the summertime.

Crochet Scalloped Crop Top, $79. If you can't picture Donna Martin with barrettes in her short red bob and this top... well then I don't know... Hahaha! This is SO her though. She'd definitely rock it running her little boutique.

J Brand Power Stretch Legging Jeans, $192. This wash of denim is pretty much identical to the shade of jeans the gals of West Beverly would be sporting. Obviously I couldn't show you guys a pair of baggy tapered ones ´a la Brenda Walsh... ya get the picture. ;)
Rebecca Minkoff Becky Jacket, $325. If Jackie Taylor was living in 2011 today (Ugh, remember when they killed her off in the new one? Bad idea)... she would for sure be wearing this blazer. I am LOVING this for the fall! Definitely a piece I would throw on over anything!
 The back is amazing!
Tavik "The Dos Lunas" Swimsuit, $89.95 on sale (Originally $135). This swimsuit by one of my fave bikini lines, Tavik, is SO Beach Club, right? Kelly or Donna would totally be running around in this while playing volleyball.
 The detailing is fabulous!

Double Knot Black Dress, $68. This would be the updated version of what Brenda, Kelly, or Donna would wear while backing up Emily Valentine to "Breaking Up is Hard to Do". Hahahaha! I am re-living so many 90210 memories as I write this post...

Curent Elliott Mechanic Denim Jacket, $298. Last but not least, I had to throw a denim jacket in the mix! The girls at West Bev were rarely seen without a denim coat draped over their shoulders. Duh! ;)

Liza's July Playlist

Music is another major interest of mine besides fashion, so I felt I'd give you guys a little playlist I conjured up for the month... Hey, I might make this a monthly thing! What do you guys think? Here are some songs that have been on heavy rotation on my iPod at the moment. Whether I am cruising around, laying by the pool, or blogging, I am never without some tunes! XO, Liza

Love Foster the People. Their music is fun and upbeat. Can't go wrong.
So who doesn't just LOVE Adele? Her music is beyond catchy and her voice is so beautiful. This is one of my faves from her recent album.
I've never cared much for Nicki Minaj, but I do like this song for some reason!
My boyfriend and I's favorite summer song! What a great tune... instant hit!
Fitz & the Tantrum's album is on constant repeat for me. I love their old school sound.
TV on the Radio is a fabulous group. All the music they put out is amazing. I've kind of killed this song, but I still love it.
This song is so cute. Love love love.
I was a major fan of "The Voice" this summer, so I had to include Javier on this list. I am so glad he won because he is the BEST. Such a gorgeous voice. I never liked this Sarah Mclachlan song until he covered it.
I've probably played this song a bazillion times this past winter... still not really sick of it though!
Wow. I just listened to this for the first time the other day and I adore it.

Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen StyleMint

I'm a big fan of Kate Bosworth and stylist Cher Coulter's JewelMint line. I love that not only are the designs super cute, but extremely affordable! Now we have the brand new StyleMint by our favorite fashionistas, Mary-Kate and Ashley. These girls just do not stop! First The Row, then Elizabeth and James, now this? I love it and I LOVE the Olsens. Below is a little behind the scenes look at their photoshoot for StyleMint with famous photog, Terry Richardson. Adore their energy and edge in this video. Can never get enough of them... XO, Liza

Servane Gaxotte

My parents are in Europe and arrived in Paris the other day. Beyond jealous! I told them to be sure to make a stop at Ladurée for their world famous macarons (duh) AND at at the Servane Gaxotte boutique. The Parisian designer is most famous for her "la vie en Rose" doll that hangs from necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. I first spotted her designs at satine in Los Angeles in January and could not stop thinking about the amazing necklaces. Each doll is dressed in a different outfit and let me tell you... they are beyond stunning in person. Pictures do not do them justice. Well my parents got me a little treat in Paris this morning that isn't just a French pastry... I cannot wait! XO, Liza

 I want them all!!! Ahh!

Aren't these just so unique? Obsessed!
