A Night Out: NEXT Restaurant

Now I know this blog is called fashion over groceries, but I just HAD to share my most recent dining experience at Next Restaurant here in Chicago. Chef Grant Achatz of the famed Alinea opened NEXT not too long ago and with a themed menu every few months, you can only imagine the hype around all of this when they announced they were doing one based on childhood. My man and I were dying to go and with tickets (yes you must have tickets) very hard to snag, it was somewhat unlikely we'd attend. My boyfriend is amazing though and was able to get two seats for us this past Friday night. What an incredible surprise! The Childhood menu at NEXT was so much fun and right up my alley, as I am such a kid at heart. We had a fabulous time, were beyond amused by each dish, and left quite stuffed. Winter Time Fun: Christkindlmarket Chicago

Although I am Jewish, who says I can't enjoy Christmas time too? My man is half and half, so I am finally going get to celebrate my first Christmas this year! To kick it off, we took a little walk over to the Loop to check out the Christkindlmarket. From gorgeous ornaments to all types of treats, there is definitely something for all ages. Last Wednesday was my 27th birthday... crazy right? I am getting SO old! This year we decided to celebrate at the newly renovated Pump Room. The food was pretty good, but the atmosphere was my favorite part. Gorgeous decor and a pretty happening crowd. All in all, a great birthday celebrated with the people that matter most to me. Favorite Fall Activity: Apple Picking

This past weekend, my man, my sister Jenny, her husband, and I drove up to Twin Lakes, Wisconsin to do our favorite fall activity of all time... apple picking! It was supposed to rain Sunday, but luckily it turned out to be a beautiful day. From apples and cider to fresh donuts and pumpkins, it fiiiinallly feels like fall. Loving it.
